"Jesus also said, ‘The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens.’” - Mark 4:26-28 (New Living Translation)

Whew. I’m getting ready to put something new out there AGAIN and I’ve been feeling a little gunshy about it. Will it work? Will the Lord lead me to shut it down later? 🙃
In the 7 years of building Big Idea Food® (we just celebrated our 7th bizaversary on May 4th!🎉) I’ve launched a lot of things:
Buzzworthy Book Club (remember that?)
Big Idea Food® TRIBE (were you in TRIBE!?)
Build Your Big Idea™ Accelerator
Flow CEO™ Accelerator
Faithful Founder® Coworking Community
Each one was real. Each one mattered and felt like “OMG this is it!”. But, as you’ve witnessed, they didn’t all last forever.
So now, as I prepare to release the next phase of the Big Idea Food® ecosystem—new newsletter, new community, new products, coaching, content and all—it’s bringing up all the feels.
But God keeps showing me this picture of how plants grow. They send out new buds. Some bloom. Some get pruned. But either way, each one was needed to give the next bud or branch something to build on. And the only way that happens is if they keep budding. Keep releasing. Keep trusting the process.
This week’s scripture tells us that the Kingdom of God grows in stages. First the blade. Then the head. Then the full grain. And it’s not our job to understand how. Our job is just to release what God gave us—without needing to see the end from the beginning.
If you’ve also been afraid to launch again, past pivots have made you gunshy, or your inner critic is screaming “What if it changes?” or “What if I fail?”, let me remind you that, with God, none of what you’re doing next will be wasted.
And the faster you can get it out and stop second-guessing and doubting and perfecting, the sooner you can get to your next stage of growth. This is God’s creative process and it can be fun if we embrace it! So let’s release what He’s showing us now so we can get to what He’s got for us next. 🙌🏾
