“from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;” - 1 Chronicles 12:32 (New International Version)

I was knee-deep in ChatGPT research at 12:42am one night back in February, learning about building KaaS (Knowledge-as-a-Service) communities and—although I was feeling super inspired—I also started sensing grief creep up in my heart.
My free hot seat coaching sessions had just started earlier that week and the context of those conversations juxtaposed with the research I was doing revealed such a great divide between where so many of God’s entrepreneurs are right now and where we could be in terms of innovation. Many of us are spending precious time and energy trying to figure out molehills of obedience, doubt, brand colors, content, etc when God is trying to give us mountains to master.
I believe Artificial Intelligence, and how it should be allowed to exist in the world according to God’s preferences is one of those mountains, but many of us are not only distracted by molehills, we’re also afraid of Ai or adamant against it.
And, rightfully so. There are absolutely many evils surrounding Ai. But the truth is:
AI isn’t the problem. The people leading it are.
Like the men of Issachar who assembled to help transfer the kingdom of Israel from Saul to David, we have an opportunity to make ourselves an asset to God’s Kingdom in this brave new world we’re entering into. Imagine if the only laborers God had to work with to shape how AI is governed and how it impacts the world were evil people because all HIS people refused to engage with it. We can’t let that happen .
Ai is just another neutral tool—like a hammer, money, the internet, social media—that bends to the will of the one holding it. The more of God’s people holding Ai, mastering Ai, the better.
We can’t partner with God to build the future if we’re not willing to understand it.
Technology isn’t going anywhere. And whether we like it or not, not learning AI will be like refusing to learn the internet—you’ll be locked out of rooms God meant for you to lead in. So let’s stop being afraid. Let’s step up and lead with integrity, discernment, and courage. The Kingdom needs us to not get left behind.

Reply back your thoughts → I have more in my heart to share on Ai over the coming weeks. What thoughts do you have? Would love to hear them, even if you disagree. Reply back and let me know.
1 Chronicles 12:23-40 → Context of the larger story surrounding the men of Issachar.
The Book of Daniel → There was value in Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah learning Babylon. It gave God mouthpieces to speak through at key times and to affect policy.
Numbers 13:30 → This is the energy & mindset I have around Ai (also, this is my #1 fave scripture in the Bible in case you care to know lol)
