"Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." -Luke 5:15-16 (New International Version)
-----
Jesus knew what it was like to live in a place where it seemed like you were always in the trenches. People dying and sick over here, corrupt leaders working harm over there, even people He knew & loved personally being unjustly murdered (Matthew 14:1-23) or dying of sickness (John 11:1-44). That's why this week's scripture, and the many that mention how He would often go off on his own to pray, are ministering to me so much right now.
Jesus Himself literally stood in the trenches with people day in and day out but was always intentional about refilling His own cup.
THAT'S what made Him so powerful. Regular communion with the God of the universe filled Him with heavenly solutions to every problem life brought His way.
As we all seek to understand our role in navigating the world we're living in today, we must continue to educate ourselves and act against injustice, oppression and all the work of the enemy because that's the example our Savior gave us. But, like Him, we must also be equally as tenacious about coming back up for air and eating at the table of our God; filling ourselves back up with His insight, His wisdom and His strategies.
Because we as believers are not called to just "navigate" this world, we're called to DOMINATE it.
And the only way we'll be able to dominate successfully is by imitating our Savior and taking time away from the noise of the world to hear the voice of our Father. The world needs us to show up with some God-sized solutions right now. Get some alone time with God into your routine so that your personal impact can be more potent, strategic & permanent, just like Jesus' was.

John 5:19-20 → God knows exactly what to do and say in every situation. If we imitate Him like Jesus did, so will we. And the way you imitate anyone is by first spending enough time with them to know them.
This message was such a word. If you're looking for true, Biblical responses to how to make a difference, this is a great start.
